Is it just me, or has Claude Code started running more slowly?

Great news and an excellent example of the benefits of AI

OpenAI models helped researchers—operating as part of our Patch the Planet initiative—discover critical security flaws in PHP, an open-source programming language used to run an estimated 70% of websites. Over the past two months, we led a coalition of maintainers, researchers,

translation: our strongest models found so many bugs internally that we felt bad keeping it to ourselves

We launched OSS Scanner, which gives critical open source projects free, periodic vulnerability scans from our strongest models. Each finding includes a proof-of-concept, and a patch where possible. red.anthropic.com/oss-scanner

the hardest skill with ai tools is knowing when to stop building. you can add a feature in 15 minutes now, so you keep adding them. dark mode, csv export, a settings page nobody asked for. my last side project had 23 features and 4 users. the one before had 3 features and 140 users. building got cheap. picking what to build is the whole job now.

you can automate your support, your onboarding emails, your landing page copy. please keep talking to users yourself. 15 minutes on a call with one confused customer taught me more than a month of analytics dashboards. ai can summarize feedback all day. it can’t feel the moment someone gets frustrated and quietly closes the tab.

2 years ago the hard part of a startup was building the product. now i can get a working mvp in about 3 days. the hard part moved to getting 100 people to care. that still takes months, an audience, and a lot of awkward dms. if you’re a technical founder with 0 followers, i’d spend the next 6 months on distribution before writing another line of code tbh.

compute and Claude access matter, but the workshops are the real unlock. most mathematicians still haven't seen what these models can and can't do on a real problem

Working out how best to use AI in mathematics research—and in science more generally—will take time, effort, and resources. We’re eager to support mathematicians as they drive scientific progress and define the future of their field. We’ve committed $5 million of funding,

@AnthropicAI curious what the output looks like at the end. a paper, changes that ship into the model, both? wondering what "help Claude reason well" means in practice.

Wow, great news!

We've been working hard on making the Claude Code desktop app great for running lots of sessions side by side. It's now much quicker to start sessions, easier to split work across a few, and you can always see what each of them is doing. Here’s what's new:
