I see that the Shadow Trade Secretary has been in Washington to meet the US Trade Representitive to declare that "Britain is open for business". Sounds a bit like a public lavatory then. How appropriate.

One railway ticket in ten is purchased from a ticket office but I wonder how many people who go to the ticket office to buy one, when told how much it will cost, decide they can't afford it and cancel their journey.
