As a Deaf parent there’s no thrill that’s paralleled as watching your child learn sign language rapidly, natively.

I'm only going to comment on this once and move on: Is "GODA, CODA and SODA" a part of the Deaf community? Yes. 100% yes. But we are not the same. We share the same language and culture but we do not share the same experience of being discriminations.

For those of you wondering how #CODA brought home a #BestPicture win... I am in the same boat. I promise you, that confusion won't exist when real #deaf #representation in front and BEHIND the camera occurs. Hopefully this happens next time a best pic win involves a Deaf story.

[singing foreign language] is not accessible, which is the whole point of captions. captioners should be inputting the actual words being spoken, whatever language they are in. #Oscars

PARASITE and CODA featured languages other than English, and the use of captions made the films accessible to standard monolingual Americans. Audiences have BEEN ready for captioning as a norm for all films!
