subsidies continue to be the currency for driving adoption in AI
3 years ago it was $20/month for unlimited tokens, now we're paying for what we consume.
There's great lock-in if you can get installed as the gateway of choice, so subsidies are a good strategy at this layer too

Regardless of the path - dynamic pricing, real-time auctions, TAM expansion, all create upside. The price Stripe is paying today could end up a bargain and you can see how all these marketplace dynamics means Stripe's payment tech could be very accretive

There's also the notion of compute being constrained, which means you could end up with an Uber surge-like pricing, where price is used to moderate demand

When you roll the tape forward, I think @stripe's investment in @OpenRouter will turn out to be a great bet.
There's even a chance this could turn out to be a bargain, on par with Facebook buying Instagram.

This Codex / AWS Bedrock bug is a perfect example of why your routing needs to be cache aware
codex repeatedly writes large prompt prefixes to the cache instead of reusing them, and it becomes 85% of the cost. 💸
if you're hearing about the Pareto frontier, here's a simple illustration that explains the concept.
At the frontier, any improvement in one metric requires a concession in another
Models at the boundary offer the best trade off between quality, price, whatever you choose.
@Suhail Feel the exact same way. I bought this domain years ago, but now it seems like something needs to exist to cut through the noise. Also a dangerous tool for doing something malicious, so choosing a reputable option is meaningful.

I'm super excited to see where TrustedRouter goes though, I'm seeing it in the conversation more and more recently and I think it's setting a new standard for transparency and security. Huge props to @jperla for the progress so far

Building a product is still hard.
