Tried double-tracking the intro section of Ecco theme song. And it's DIFFICULT: freeform lead completely falls apart! You either have to play the pads with your other hand or record them separately AFTER the lead. Absolutely bonkers but it actually worked for me!

Got a Core i5-4670 for experiments which wouldn't even do 3.8 GHz as cores hit 105°C and throttle under Prime95. Removed the lid, replaced stock paste with plain old Arctic MX-4. 88°C under same cooler. This certainly has been very educational.

I... Honestly can't believe how easy that was, given the absolute rubbish of tools that I had. As you tighten the vice, you feel a distinct POP and then IHS peels off, just like that.

Replacing a failed KA2195 with a CXA2075M on a VA1.8 Mega Drive 2 is surprisingly straightforward. The only extra component is an external resistor required to enable internal Y-trap circuit!
