Before you buy my freelancer pricing kit, here's exactly what you're getting.
Take-Home Rate Kit — $27 one-time
A spreadsheet + short PDF.
You enter your numbers in the yellow cells.
It calculates:
• private floor rate
• recommended rate
• premium rate
• project price
• lean-scope alternative
• basic cash check for payment terms
Plus short scripts for pricing, scope creep, and late invoices.
It is not:
• a course
• coaching
• tax advice
• a client-finding system
• a magic “charge $500/hr” formula
It's a calculator and decision framework for freelancers who are tired of guessing what to charge.
Excel file included. You can also upload it into Google Sheets.

Doing work for a friend creates a weird pricing problem.
You want to help them.
So you lower your rate.
Then lower it again.
Then add “whatever works for you.”
There is another option:
Keep your normal pricing logic.
Then deliberately decide what you want to give away.
Example:
“Normally this scope is $2,000. I can do the smaller version for you at $1,300.”
Now the discount is intentional instead of accidental.
Generosity is fine.
Not knowing what you're giving away isn't.

If your calculated freelance rate feels uncomfortably high, don't immediately lower it.
Inspect the assumptions first.
Ask:
Is my desired take-home realistic?
Are my annual expenses correct?
How many weeks will I actually work?
How many hours can I realistically invoice?
Did I double-count any taxes or costs?
Then look at the result.
Sometimes the spreadsheet is wrong.
Sometimes your assumptions are wrong.
And sometimes the market simply won't support the economics you want.
All three are useful things to learn.

For project work, I like this starting framework:
**Estimated hours
× sustainable rate
× appropriate risk adjustment
- direct project costs**
Not:
“What number sounds reasonable?”
The difficult part is usually not multiplying.
It's being honest about the inputs.
How many hours will this actually take?
How clear is the scope?
How many people approve it?
How fixed is the deadline?
Bad inputs create bad quotes.
Reply RATE and I’ll send the spreadsheet I built to make those inputs explicit.
A rush job has a hidden cost.
It doesn't just consume 10 hours.
It might consume:
Thursday night.
Saturday morning.
Another client's deadline.
Your planned day off.
That's why rush pricing isn't necessarily “charging more because you can.”
The delivery conditions changed.
So the economics changed.
Same with extra stakeholders, added revisions, or a compressed timeline.
Price the actual job you're being asked to do.
Not the calm version you originally imagined.

@Taxes_Explained Exactly, and i come from a landscape business backround which in my opinion is far more complex in terms on knowing your numbers and pricing based on the math rather then intuition.
A freelancer earning $100/hour does not take home $100/hour.
That $100 may have to cover:
• taxes
• software
• insurance
• payment processing
• unpaid vacation
• sick days
• admin time
• sales time
• gaps between projects
This is why comparing your freelance rate directly to an employee's hourly wage can be misleading.
Revenue ≠ take-home.
Your rate has to fund the entire little business wrapped around your work.
That's the problem my $27 Take-Home Rate Kit is designed to calculate.

Your most important freelance metric might not be your hourly rate.
It might be:
billable utilization.
You can work 40 hours without selling 40 hours.
Sales calls aren't billed.
Bookkeeping isn't billed.
Marketing usually isn't billed.
Empty calendar space definitely isn't billed.
If you assume 35 billable hours but consistently invoice 22, your pricing model is built on imaginary inventory.
Track your actual billable hours for a month.
Then price from reality.
The Take-Home Rate Kit lets you plug that number directly into the calculation.
Reply RATE for it.
A client has a $3,000 budget.
Your full scope costs $4,500.
Three options:
A) Do $4,500 of work for $3,000
B) Pretend it will take fewer hours
C) Design a $3,000 version of the project
Freelancers accidentally choose A or B all the time.
C is usually the cleaner conversation.
Fewer deliverables.
Fewer revisions.
Smaller scope.
Same pricing logic.
Budget should change the project before it changes the math underneath your business.
Reply RATE and I’ll send the tool I built around this
A simple accounts-receivable system beats “I’ll follow up eventually.”
Example:
Day 0 → invoice
Day 3 → polite reminder
Day 10 → follow up + pause additional work if appropriate
Day 21 → direct balance reminder
Your exact timing can vary.
The important part is deciding it before someone owes you money.
Otherwise every late invoice becomes an emotional decision.
I included simple payment follow-up scripts in my freelancer pricing kit.
