@megannoel1997 I think there is plenty of Canadian music being played today. Radio consists of a lot of Bieber, Drake and other Can artists. #mus2011
I believe that artists should be promoted based on talent, not where they’re from. It’s not really necessary to have a quota. #MUS2011
@MichaelFoleyNL Newfoundland is rich in amazing cover bands for local music. I think it’s part of our culture to hear a song that’s been covered. #MUS2011
However, folk music is covered all the time and most of the time it is equally as good as the original. #MUS2011
It depends on the genre of music I believe. Pop music has a connection to the artist so cover bands dont do it for me with pop. #mus2011 1/2
@BenToTheAsh Good point. Some of my favourite songs actually covers. Originals can often be outdated. Redoing a song can bring it to life again. #mus2011
(1/3) Music was considered "schlock" when it was not original, mainly being from the #MUS2011
(2/3) change in vocal timbre once it was sung by a younger artist. Its easy to dismiss the artist/song,but "schlock" music served a #MUS2011
(3/3) purpose at its time, because a lot of younger kids may not have been allowed to listen to music sung by someone of colour. #MUS2011
@JaredAdams19 #Mus2011 His style really isolated him as a powerful artist able to portray emotion through his singing.
#Mus2011 Ray Charles uses his breaking voice to add his own personal touch to his songs. It made him unique at the time.
@heatherhynes Music I listen to today is stuff I would of never heard of if it wasn't for the streaming services. #MUS2011
(2/2) to listen to already prepared playlists to help me focus while I study. #MUS2011
(1/2) The recently released Apple Music allows me to listen to virtually any song I can think of and has opened up opportunities #MUS2011
