Over the last month or so I was made HOD and then my mum passed away incredibly suddenly. I had to return to school and try to get a handle on TAGs as well as say goodbye to Year 11 as my final act at their HOY. I am beyond tired.

Interesting fact: the Eyjafjallajokull volcanic eruption 10 years ago managed to be carbon neutral. The CO2 it emitted was offset by the reduction in CO2 caused by the flight ban due to ash. CO2 emissions: 150,000 tonnes/day CO2 not emitted from planes: 2.8 m tonnes

I’ve been trialling a few new things on Teams this week to encourage more engagement and ease my marking workload. I’m a fan of these two 👌🏻drag and drop tasks and whole class question answering task (with added verbal feedback) loads easier to support and check their working!

Very weird seeing your town all over Twitter as an example of flooding. Currently studying rivers with a Year 8 so set them a survey123 challenge to photograph and plot evidence of flooding that they find on their daily exercise walks!
