You may have heard not to hit every ball to your opponent's weakness because you’ll make it stronger. I disagree. Match play doesn’t lend itself to improvement. If your opponent has a bad backhand when the match starts, he’s still going to have it when you finish. #TennisTips

Changing the ball direction in a court-cross rally dramatically increases your chances of making an unforced error. Even if your down-the-line shot finds the corner, if your opponent reaches it, you’ll be on the defensive trying to retrieve her cross-court reply. #TennisTips

Accelerating the racquet head into the ball is the key to consistency. And topspin is the most effective way to do that. It brings it back down into the court. And it produces a high-bouncing ball, pushing your opponent back and limiting her ability to pressure you. #TennisTips
