Going through reinforcement learning these days. RL concepts can be applied to personal life too - Agent should focus on future expected rewards. Past rewards dont matter at all. - First have an estimate of expected value(V_π, Q_π) from current policy and then try to improve it.

Came back to US yesterday. There's been lot of news recently about tough screening and arrests at border. I was asked just 2 questions - how long were you away for? And did you bring any food? Others in line were quickly processed too. :) News seems to overfocus on worst cases.

I was in Oahu, Hawaii last month and in Jaipur, Rajasthan this month. One is a tropical island and other is a city close to desert. Surprisingly the weather(humidity, temp, sunlight) and greenery feels the same in both places!

Was at Saastr conference recently. Talked to 40+ companies to understand if the problem we're solving is relevant to them and their pain points. Talking in person is much better than zoom meetings - no constraints of topics or time when someone finds the conversation relevant.

Got an office space near Pinterest and Cloudera offices in Palo Alto. Realized that an office desk and meeting room are a privilege and cost >$20k/year. Never thought of this at Google where millions of sqft office space and thousands of meeting rooms were available for free!

Left Google Deepmind last week and now working on a stealth startup full time. Right after leaving, the first meeting was on Sand Hill road with a tier 1 VC. Always wanted to have a VC meeting there since I first heard of that road 15 years ago! 😀 Meeting was insightful as well!

You can create 2 types of internal docs 1) Reader-optimized 2) Writer-optimized Most people & teams assume that all their docs must be Type 1. But the friction to create & update Type 1 docs is very high. That's why internal docs are often outdated & messy. On Type 2 docs👇🏾
