Anxiety doesn’t need to be admitted. You’re not at fault. Depression doesn’t need to be “confessed.” It’s not a crime. We wouldn’t confess to “cancer”, so why should Mental health be any different? Let’s remove the language of shame and simply SHARE our truth. No jury needed.

Mental Health issues aren’t just feeling sad. It’s: - never ending anxiety - panic attacks - not leaving the house - sleeping too much or too little - mania - breakdowns - struggling to eat or binge eating - intrusive thoughts - self harm - unexplainable guilt And so much more.

Being a mental health advocate doesn’t make you a celebrity. Your twitter followers aren’t your fans. An advocate is someone talking about their experiences. People follow you because they want too. Pay them some kindness and treat them with the respect they deserve.
