The 2020 presidential election will be all about which party is to blame for the stock and real estate market collapse and the worst recession in U.S. history. Trump will blame the Democratic Congress and the Fed; Democrats will blame Trump, tax cuts, deregulation, and tariffs.

Likely sequence of events: 1. Bear market; 2. Recession; 3. Deficits explode; 4. Return of ZIRP and QE; 5. Dollar tanks; 6. Gold soars; 7. CPI spikes; 8; Long-term rates rise; 9. Fed. forced to hike rates during recession 10. A financial crisis without stimulus or bailouts!

Interest rates are rising, stocks are falling, budget and trade deficits are exploding, as autos, homebuilders, and financials are all flashing recession. If you think you've seen this movie before, you're half right. It's a sequel to 2008, but the ending will be much worse!

I believe we are going to get the trifecta. It’s not just going to be the bond market that’s going to be falling. It’s going to be the dollar as well as the stock market for the same reasons that it fell back in 1987. schiffgold.com/key-gold-news/…

Despite #gold trading above Friday's high, and above the physiological $1,350 resistance level, gold stocks are still well below their Friday highs. This confirms that few traders actually believe this gold rally is real. They are in for a rude awakening!

With today's 724 point rout in the Dow Jones, with more downside likely, I wonder if Jerome Powell wishes he could take back yesterday's rate hike? Let's see how much longer the #Fed can keep pretending many more rate hikes are coming and that its balance sheet will shrink!

The Atlanta Fed now estimates Q1 GDP at a meager 1.9%, down 65% from its 5.4% estimate made earlier this year. It’s amazing how stock market bulls fail to notice just how quickly the growth mirage is fading!

The reality is that with unprecedented levels of debt and minimal savings, U.S. interest rates should be much higher than their historic norms. But rates have stayed low because the Fed has been able to artificially suppressing them. The markets are about to change that fast.

10 year treasury yields are now just below 2.95%. For those who think 3% is the ceiling think again. Once we move above 3.25% i think the move to 4% will be quick. If the stock market hasn't crashed by then, or the Fed has not changed policy, the move to 5% will be even quicker!
