I guess I just can’t imagine being a Christian and looking at the state of the world today and somehow concluding that we need more forceful people, more controlling people, and more domineering people. I can’t imagine not wanting more peacemakers, more humility, and more mercy.

I think one of the greatest illusions that social media has given aspiring pastors and ministry folks is that ministry is about being on a platform, mic in one hand, Bible in the other, large crowd watching, it's no wonder young people get into ministry and get disillusioned

I know this is old news, but I'm regularly disheartened at how unkind my fellow Christians are. And not just unkind, but mean. Bullies. Love only given to those who look, act and think just like them. The opposite of Christ.

Perhaps the greatest weakness of Christianity today is we are desperate rather than faithful. Desperate for the big name rather than the life of integrity. Desperate for reach rather than formation. Desperate to “change the world” rather than follow Jesus. Etc etc etc

The Church doesn't need better apologetics or apologists. It simply needs better Christians. Emulating Christ is far simpler, more productive, and easier to do than twisting oneself into intellectual & doctrinal knots to defend ideas of secondary/tertiary importance.
