More than TEN THOUSAND students with special learning needs used the Arizona ESA program in Q1 of 2024. More than EIGHTY thousand in FL. Around the country, hundreds of thousands more use school choice programs to access the education they deserve. But, oh yeah, school choice doesn’t help students with special needs 🤡
@nathancunneen And the way that bill was written in Texas every single one of them would have to SIGN AWAY THEIR IDEA RIGHTS!!! Hang in there, Skippy.
@nathancunneen Researchers found the vouchers were being used not by poor students escaping failing schools, but students “leaving wealthier, high-performing districts.” State auditors found $700K in voucher money being spent on cosmetics, clothing, and other inappropriate items. Sure, Sport.

@nathancunneen I don't know anyone saying that. In AZ many of the special needs students that had already been using the program have been deprioritized. The universal ESA #voucher program needs to be rolled back - the one that lets the wealthy use taxpayer $ to pay for private school tuition.
@nathancunneen Don’t be fooled by claims without explanation or proof because here’s what “school choice” is really about.
@nathancunneen And now they are running a negative budget…
