2 GA Tech students came in & they were whispering & exclaiming over how cute the store is. One of them said she wanted to live in here. And I can’t even tell you the remarkable joy I’m basking in right now. That sweetness will carry me for days.❤️📖

The Push by @audrain played with so many thoughts that run through early motherhood—the ones no one talks about much. Deeply unsettling. Can’t stop thinking about the ways we are created—and what that creates in return. This one will stay with me for a while.

My middle grades manuscript (which I love) just got rejected by the 4th agent—which I know is not nearly enough. More rejection is in order! But right now I just feel like a skinless grape.

A customer brought some cookies that she & a friend just finished baking up to the store. For me. That small act of kindness made me feel so seen. And appreciated. It also helped that they were real, real good.❤️📚❤️🍪

The Great Believers is stunning. How @rebeccamakkai manages to weave such beauty thru tragedy is baffling. Flawlessly written. The acknowledgments are what made me cry. Such incredible humility & respect for those who lived & fought through the AIDS epidemic. This book is a gift

Sat in the store for most of the day reading The Great Believers as the rain pattered on outside. Felt like a gloriously guilty pleasure to escape that way on a Wednesday afternoon (even though reading the books, it’s my job). Thanks @rebeccamakkai for a tremendous novel❤️📚

Initially, reading Summer was like flying down a slip’n slide…so much to take in, thoughts & ideas whizzing by. But once I settled into the narrative style, which is like stream of consciousness but not really, it was just the thing my soul needed. Philosophical. Hopeful. A gift

I rarely love the ending of a book. But @lisadtaddeo captured all of the magic & intrigue of a good ending in Animal. The complexity of this book (and the exploration of womanhood & survivorship) stuck with me for weeks after I’d finished. Phenomenal book club read.⭐️

Short stories rooted in a strong sense of place (Denver). The landscape/cityscape becomes a living, breathing thing. Extraordinary exploration of what it is to be a woman & remain part of your community while continuously striving for self-determination. Excellent. Challenging✨

I railed against The Only Good Indians at first. I thought it was violent. Misogynistic. I wanted to quit. Thankfully I didn’t. The end is stunning & brilliant. I flew through the 2nd half both intrigued & horrified. So many of my original assumptions were wrong. Full 180.⭐️🦌

The Mary Shelley Club was good YA horror fun! Loved the references to horror films woven throughout. And the way @goldywrites deconstructed & played with the horror genre. Bookish gives it an enthusiastic 👻👻
