In @OpenSciEd Unit 8.2, Ss figured out: ✅ we heard sound in air molecules ✅ we heard sound in water molecules ✅ we heard sound through solid molecules ❓ what if we take all of those molecules away? Will we still hear sound? We used our mini vacuum system to find out!
Every year when we do @OpenSciEd Unit 8.2 (sound), Sanho (J) Steele Louchart visits and works with my Ss. J is blind and uses Flash Sonar to navigate. J thrives on independence. He’s an attorney for the National Federation of the Blind. An inspirational related phenomenon!

Our 6th grade @OpenSciEd 6.1 Light and Matter unit is done! I posted this running model progression next to our #DQB and related phenomena list. As we uncovered new evidence & updated our models, we added to the progression. Look at our growth! 💡
Ss generated and then used a list of strategies scientists typically use to investigate. With this resource and their questions, Ss used vertical whiteboards to brainstorm/ share out investigation ideas to help us figure out our phenomena for unit 6.4. @OpenSciEd @RightQuestion
