Burning Days (Kurak Günler, 2022) 🇹🇷 One of the strongest Turkish films of recent years and a standout among LGBTQ+-themed films. 🏳️‍🌈 A young prosecutor arrives in a drought stricken Anatolian town and becomes entangled in corruption, local power struggles, and a dangerous closeness with a journalist. Stylish, tense, and quietly devastating, Emin Alper’s film is less a conventional queer romance than a gripping moral thriller about repression, machismo, and the cost of staying silent. The film premiered at Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section and won multiple awards at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, including Best Director.
