@TNicholsMD @KinjNS No, this is Medicaid. I worked hospice for many years…we almost always had to recommend divorce so the spouse could keep the house and the car. Medicaid will come after after your assets for recouping money after you die.

Som abortion thoughts: I teach sex ed and when I explain the menstrual cycle, I emphasize that if you are expecting your period, it’s one day late, and you take a pregnancy test, if it comes back positive, you are considered 4 weeks + 1 day into your pregnancy.

We’re back to mandatory N95s in the hospital and y’all out here literally singing about being able to cough on each other on planes. I’m so goddamn tired.

Hey @FedEx I'm getting really tired of you sending your drivers out to isolated places on my rez without snow tires. Sending them out here without good tires, a tow chain, and a shovel and taking away their bonus if they call for help is NOT ok.

Slavery was wildly controversial, the Trail of Tears was extremely controversial, Korematsu was a 6-3 decision and the dissenters were completely correct. And on, and on. It’s easier to say “they didn’t know better” than “they chose evil.”

Too many are silent or dismissive as our U.S. tax dollars continue to be used for this kind of inhumanity. I am tired of people functioning from a place of fear rather than doing what's right because of the bullying by pro-Israel lobbyists. This is apartheid, plain and simple.

There is only one military occupation throwing stun grenades into crowds of Palestinian men, women, children, and the elderly who are gathered to break their fast. You can't "both sides" this.

@vajrarinpoche @indianavatara The word Tara comes from several different cultures. Stop tying to gatekeep this woman's name. Either learn from what she's trying to teach you or move on.

I've watched so many elderly people suffer in prison this pandemic. #COVID19 really brought to light for me how we sentence to people to these extreme double digit sentences. They come in as teenagers & now they're being wheeled out as sick old men on gurneys. This has to change.

People dont need prisons. But prisons needs people. That means the simple existence of State & Private Prisons creates a financial incentive & demand to incarcerate - the same way a farm demands cattle. That why humans are treated like cattle in prisons. Caged & profited from.

My mom was incarcerated for her addiction when I was a child. That resulted in all my siblings being placed in the system. It resulted in almost all of us being incarcerated. If we prioritized treating my mom's addiction vs locking her up my family's life would be very different.

People are being forced into solitary confinement at this prison. "Shut the fuck up! You dont fucking speak when I'm speaking!" The officer shrieked into my neighbors face as he pleaded not to go. I hate it here.
