Wow, I’m ashamed to admit I truly never heard of Alex Johnson in my life. But, thanks to Billy here, I’m pleased to have discovered his Random Huge Season: Alex Johnson, 1970 California Angels • 202 hits, 46 XBH, 86 RBI • Won AL batting title (.329) • Only AS selection of his career • Only MVP votes of his career (8th) • Just 68 strikeouts against 202 hits

@notgaetti Read up on him - one of the most disliked major league players in the last 60 years
@notgaetti Few seasons compare to @Orioles Brady Anderson’s Random Huge Season in 1996. 50 homers (110 RBI) after hitting 16 (64 RBI) the year before. Hit 18 (73 RBI) in 1997. Never hit more than 24 any other year. He played 18 years and hit 24% of his career 210 homers that one season.
@notgaetti Any reason that Vada Pinson isn’t in the Hall of Fame?
@notgaetti Tough personality and If memory serves me, he sat out the last day of the season to protect his slim lead on the batting title. Not exactly Ted Williams
