crushing to see the games industry has learned nothing from 2014. the harassment against sweet baby is cut from so similar a cloth - rank opportunism from right wing mouthpieces - utter lack of knowledge about how games are made - dead silence from studios and platforms in power
it doesn't matter that the core accusation is deeply stupid, or that even a grain of scrutiny would reveal it to be absolutely empty. it was the same back then.
ultimately i think engaging in anything like good faith ("let me tell you how the games industry works!", long threads about "if they were really devs they'd KNOW") is pointless. this isn't even an argument, and to act like it is makes for an immediate concession
we do not need to be out here fact checking. what sweet baby (and those doing the work reporting this) need is solidarity as people and as workers, and explicit, direct disavowal of this campaign from the platforms enabling it
@notquitereal Solidarity with someone who tried to ban a Steam account of single Brazilian guy simply out of spite? I will pass.
@notquitereal "...need is solidarity as people and as workers" >solidarity to people caught being backstabbers & blatantly lying. >for workers that actively pursue & atk ppl deemed as "enemies of the cause" without regard of their wellbeing, putting their corpo's objs 1st. Yeah, how about No?
