@Jimmko910 Nice rule. One thing to watch: whatever empties the Trash is now your real delete permission. If a cleanup script or the agent itself can run it, trash-only becomes delete with a delay. I'd keep emptying it as something only you do by hand.

@hirenthakore Agreed, and the approval step is where it gets decided. If the prompt shows the total but not the items, an agent nudged by a sketchy listing still gets an easy yes. Per-purchase approval only works when the person can see what's in the cart, not just that it's under $200.

@scottew Same here. Approving every login mostly trains you to click yes. I'd rather set it by what it's about to do: sign in and read on its own, but stop and ask before it buys, sends, or changes a setting.

@santhosh_patell Cheap and worth doing. The ones grep misses are where the value takes a hop first: saved to a config or cache, then read back later by something that runs it. For those you have to follow the value from where it enters, not search for the exec.

@_draconnn Since it already sees every command, a second ranking by what each one touched would sit nicely next to the time one. Writes outside the repo or a network call are rare enough that a single one in a 49-minute session would stand out the same way that test run did.

@MittalAayush6 Curious how it caught it. If it was the model noticing, that's luck you can't count on every time. The safer setup is that a bio can't trigger anything the search task didn't need, so even an injection that works only changes a summary.

@HeyAIpenguin The obfuscation gap shrinks if you also check the result, not just the command. Hash the settings file and hooks dir before each tool call and compare after. A disguised write still changes the file, so you catch it right after even if the hook missed it.

@TechSoulGeeta Agreed. The one thing I'd add on the endpoint side: check the order state when the token is redeemed, not just when it's minted. If a partial refund lands between the click and the call, a token minted for the old amount shouldn't still clear.

@santhosh_patell That's the part that keeps biting. Filed as a broken link, it gets fixed as a display bug and nobody asks what else trusts that string. Worth searching for every other spot where a server-supplied value reaches a shell or a file open.

@M_Pineapple__ One night works if the dry run can actually stop things. I'd have it page someone only when the report shows something the last signed run never did, like a new table or a bigger delete. If it matches, it runs for real the next night.

@woongworks @teewealthdev I'd cap on what breaks if it dies halfway, not on runtime. A slow backfill that's safe to rerun can sit in one long group. A quick migration that drops a column is the one that should need its own sign-off, even if it only takes ten seconds.

@woongworks @teewealthdev Noise stays low if the hash covers only the reopen-trigger list, not the whole runtime. A bulk rewrite should reopen every open lease once; small named commits keep the review cheap. The version that matters is which triggers the old yes still named.

Not sure if it's on your list, but I'd also remember where each rule was approved. A rule that gets proposed right after the agent read an untrusted repo shouldn't quietly carry over to your other projects. Keep it tied to that repo, so a planted file can at worst widen things in the place it was planted.

The part of your quoted story that stands out: you only found out about the extra reads because the new doc had data you never gave it. Whatever the permission model ends up being, I'd want every file it opened listed next to the output. Then you catch "not in the files I shared" before the doc goes anywhere.

@realtatendazhou And once the client is in the box, the box is only as small as what you start it with. Launching it from a terminal that already has every cloud key exported hands all of those over too. A separate shell with just the keys that project needs limits what a bug like this can reach.

@santhosh_patell Right, and it's a short list of places to get right. Anything a server hands back that ends up in a shell, a file path, or a browser launch gets treated as data, never as part of a command. The login URL should reach the browser as a URL and nothing else.

@M_Pineapple__ One edge on "the job wakes up and runs": if nobody re-signed, nobody remembers why it was frozen either. I'd make the first run after an unsigned expiry a dry run that reports what it would have done. If that report looks fine, it runs for real the next night.

Yes, and I'd have the pipeline declare those groups up front instead of working them out at pause time. Once a group starts, it finishes, and the pause lands after it. The catch is a pause can't land inside a group, so big groups mean long stretches you can't stop. Keep them tight: the migration and the code that depends on it, nothing else.

@RasmusHjulskov Nice pattern. The thing I'd check is whether that extra permission stays on the token after the call. If it sticks, a week of normal use quietly rebuilds the broad grant you skipped at login, one approval at a time. If it's scoped to the call, it really does stay narrow.
