Tokyo’s 24-hour convenience stores, or conbini as they are known in Japan, have quickly become a primary source of sustenance — and, more surprisingly, culinary enjoyment — for many visitors navigating one of the strangest #Olympics in history. nyti.ms/3ickGUS
@nytimes Japan & South Korea have the world's best convenience stores. Their snacks & ready-to-eat meals (Korean Fried Chicken!) deserve a Michelin star. Also many discounts and BOGO offers on snacks and alcohol. Why doesn't the rest of the convenience store world just copy Japan and SK??
@nytimes Hellz yeah! Family Mart, Lawson, and 7-11 are the top 3 I see here. You can pay bills, buy Disneyland and Universal Studios tickets, etc. They’re all over the place
@nytimes If you only knew, having the conbini here in the states would be life changing dream, that egg salad sandwich… if you only knew.
