use `command -v mycmd` in #bash to display what a command maps to (alias, pathname etc.). Also useful as a test with if: `if command -v wget; do wget something; done`

Use `@reboot` in crontab to run a script on boot; especially useful as a non-root user if you don't want to use init.d etc. eg: add line `@reboot /path/to/script.sh` via `crontab -e`
