I just loved yesterday's graduation ceremony for our MPhil in Literary Translation Students! Neville Cox, the College registrar is such a gifted orator and host. And it was wonderful to welcome the graduates and their guests back to @TCLCTdublin. So proud!

A highlight of my week was holding in my hands a copy of Lady Chudleigh's "Poems on Several Occasions", from 1703. Such a beautiful book it was, each of its pages a delicate relic from the past.

Yet that face, those eyes! They bring out pain I had thought lost; The entrails-feasting worms, The shaky hands, The non-stop thinking and regret. They bring a nice break from the numbness, A thaw I had believed an empty hope. For pain does mean alive And so has pain revived me.
