Memecoin dominance in alt markets is declining. CT would be shifting from gambling to focusing on fundamentals, similar to a few years ago. Pack it up lads, it’s over.

The Airdrop Meta is now converging to liquidity-based airdrops in my opinion. Things like Scroll, Linea, Eigenlayer, Symbiotic, Mitosis, Elixir, Superform, and the dApps residing on them (making them always a 2-in-1 play). Downside: Size matters, and mostly linear, resulting in a certain APR on your farms. Still a few activity-based and testnet airdrops left, but they aren't nearly as high-profile as the latest batch (Wormhole, zkSync, LayerZero, Starknet, Manta). The Market smartening up on low float / high FDV, and VC seed valuations (and therefore compressing them) is ironically bad for airdrop farmers: Biggest upside of airdrop farming has been that you get your tokens on Day-1 at highly inflated FDV, fully unlocked.

What do you prefer? Paying 50% of your LayerZero airdrop to the tax authorities or paying 20% and donating 2% to Ethereum developers? I’ve seen a lot of people getting angry about the “forced donation” to claim the LayerZero airdrop. It was funny to me when I first saw it, but after thinking it through, it’s been a MASTERSTROKE for two reasons: 1) In most jurisdictions, if you receive an airdrop, you have to report it as work income, meaning you have to pay 40-50% of your airdrop in taxes. By implementing proof-of-donation and making it clear in their blog that this is NOT an airdrop, you can report it as a capital gain, which means the tax rate is reduced to 15-25% in most jurisdictions. You save a lot of money. 2) There are thousands of addresses infected with bots that drain your funds and claim your airdrops, stealing them from you (AKA sweepers). By implementing proof of donation and announcing it 5 minutes before the claim, these sweepers find it much harder to claim and steal and have to do a lot of manual work, leaving a huge window of opportunity to recover those funds. How to Not Get Rekt Midcurving Polymarket Disputes After yesterday’s Layer Zero airdrop drama, I looked at the most disputed @Polymarket outcomes I could find. The pattern is very clear: MARKET: Will the Titanic Sub Be Found? Akshually: the rules say “If pieces are located, but not the cabin which contains the vessel’s passengers, that will not suffice for this market to resolve to “Yes.” No parts of the cabin were found! Come on Bro: They found the sub. Outcome: YES MARKET: Layer Zero Airdrop Akshually: the LayerZero docs clearly state “This is not an airdrop” because they require a donation to claim. Come on Bro: It was a TGE with a claims process. The donation was not a big deal. Outcome: YES MARKET: ETH ETF Approval Akshually: Seems pretty clear to me that Polymarket should require an S-1 or S-3 to be approved/go effective for "yes." This is clear from the grammar. When you say "*ANY*" that means you are referring to any *one* among a GROUP...the only GROUP at issue here is the group of individual ETF *offerings* trying to get registered on S-1 or S-3, none of which have 'received approval'...saying "if any of the 19b-4s receives approval" would make no sense (citation: @lex_node) Come on Bro: All CT and the media are reporting it was approved Outcome: YES MARKET: Will Nikki Haley Endorse Trump? Akshually: Haley just said she will vote for Trump. She never said her supporters should. That’s not an endorsement! Come on Bro: Media reporting it as an endorsement Outcome: YES MARKET: Zelensky as Time Person of the Year Akshually: The market clearly states: "this market will resolve to "Yes" only if exclusively Volodymyr Zelenskyy is named as the TIME's Person of the Year. Come on Bro: He was the only person on the cover Outcome: YES Conclusion This is not a critique of the @Polymarket or @UMAprotocol dispute process. It is just an observation that the "Come on Bro" lens is almost always best in a disputed situation. If there are other counter-examples please let me know and I will update this to get a more balance picture. Bottom Line: if you have any lawyerly tendencies, I recommend killing this part of your brain with a few whippets before making any trade.
