📢 My first first author paper is out! We examined the longitudinal relationship between insomnia & depressive symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also explored COVID-19 worry and safety behaviors. I had a lot of fun collaborating with @B_Koscinski and the rest of @lab_ou!

This study ran by grad student Kate Kolnogorova, Dr. Allan, grad student Shahrzad Moradi, and Dr. Stecker examine a cross-sectional indirect effects model to explore the link between PTSD symptom clusters and constructs from Joiner's interpersonal theory. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Together elevated ptsd symptoms and marijuana contributed to suicidal outcomes. A surprising but important finding that we intend to follow up given that medical marijuana can be prescribed in many states for ptsd. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100…
Consistent with other interventions we’ve done, CBT-based interventions, even the briefest of interventions (~1 hour) can make a difference!
