Thanks @MTSlive for the chat last night about Instant Robot Learning! Here's a little clip about why we're excited at @Machenta_ to be building AI for robots that learn instantly.
Machenta CEO @Ed__Johns reveals how betting against the robotics industry's approach led his team to build robots that learn new tasks instantly from just one demonstration: "I decided what I wanted to build is a robot brain that can learn tasks like a human. And the rest of the
who knew you needed so many IMO Gold winners to resell tokens in a React app
Scott Wu is literally just that Asian quant from The Big Short movie A guileless autist being paraded around by the conniving white man (Zach Frankel) in order to fool boomer enterprise IT managers with Olympiad mumbo jumbo
Worth a listen to hear the origin story of @Machenta_ and how @Ed__Johns has been truly an OG in the space

Anthropic: “We cannot underscore enough the impact that UK @AISecurityInst has had, and will continue to have, on global AI safety and security.”
maybe the most important graph in the world
You can't make this shit up. "AI seems broadly overconfident about its own ability. This benchmark helps show by how much." That's probably what's called @OfficialLoganK 's touch
Fun times at ETN today — we made it to #1 on the funding leaderboard! (Small caveat: we’re the first company they’ve put up there 🤷♂️) @Machenta_
Machenta just came out of stealth with a $40M seed, making them the inaugural company on our new funding leaderboard -- the first of many to come:
@scaling01 I think people definitely underestimate how important distillation was
another brutal reality check for the open-sauce china shills GPT-5.5 released on April 23 outscores all tested chinese models and OpenAI and Anthropic have been holding back their strongest models since the supply chain risk designation, so we aren't even seeing the full extent of the domination
the top 20 models on FrontierCode 2 it's actually hilarious it's all OpenAI and Anthropic + Grok 4.7 xhigh at #20 DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 max is rank 52 but yeah totally, china is catching up and we are all doomed

For robotics to mature as a deployable technology, it may be critical for models to go beyond natural language. I’ve been a big fan of demos as a test-time modality, and it’s been extremely exciting to see the progress the @Machenta_ has made the past months!
Cool but can you make gemini good first
This is Genie 4, our most realistic and interactive world model yet. 🌐 Explore dynamic environments in real time to see how the scene responds, sounds, and how the people in it move, react, and speak.
Glad to back @Machenta_ ! 🚀 Teach a robot a new task with a single demonstration, no further training. Powered by a foundation model trained entirely in simulation. “Vibe coding in the physical world” is an exciting vision. Now out of stealth!

Teach a robot with only a single demonstration. Key to making robots into useful tools for a wide range of work! Really cool launch.
@chris_j_paxton Thanks Chris! Only the beginning...
Big congrats to @Ed__Johns & team! Ed & his lab has done some of the most impressive work on super data efficient robot learning. Super bullish on them!
