@gochrisprice @thisisfoster I think what he did was clearly sinful and disqualified him from the ministry, but everything I read stated that the woman was in her mid to late 20s when the relationship began. To say otherwise without proof is slander and sinful as well brother.

And who are they teaching (the church body entrusted to their care)? This in no way makes them superior; but it is the role they serve in (qualified by gifting and character).

@OwnYourWrldview @PastorMikeStone @TomBuck In Romans 2:21, Paul asks, "You then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach (kerysso) against stealing, do you not steal?"—addressing those already within the faith community.
@OwnYourWrldview @PastorMikeStone @TomBuck In Acts 20:25, Paul tells the elders of the church at Ephesus: "I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching (kerysso) the kingdom will see me again." These were already Christians and church leaders.

@OwnYourWrldview @PastorMikeStone @TomBuck I'm by no means a language expert, but I believe "sermon" originates from Latin. The Greek equivalent idea would probably be some cross between euangelizō (tell good news) and didasko (teach) 2 Timothy 2:4 "Preach the word" comes to mind, along with the story of Paul & Eutychus

@ResaRozay @Just_ebube We are commanded in scripture to confront sin among those that claim the name of Christ. Not to condemn, but to correct. The motivation is to be from a place of love and concern for their soul. We should speak the truth in love and never condone what God condemns.
