crypto’s whole point was removing the middleman. unclear rules are quietly putting it back. when the law won’t say what’s legal, builders play it safe. they add a custodian. they lock down the frontend. and suddenly you are asking permission again, for the exact thing crypto set out to remove. the clarity act would have drawn the line: regulate whoever controls the funds, not whoever writes the code. it just failed in the senate, 50 to 49. so the real question is the one @kstellana is pointing at. “who controls your money?” if the answer is a company you bolted on to keep lawyers happy, you rebuilt the middleman. the better answer is no single company at all. control decided by the network, checked by everyone, settled by consensus. that is what a trustless layer like @GenLayer is for. it settles who is right without anyone holding the keys. permissionless is not a vibe. it is who is in control. keep it permissionless.
