The worst thing about paying taxes in India is that you still have to drive on broken roads, deal with hard water and water logging issues, and receive subpar education. Why would the top 1% want to stay here?

Pay - 30% tax on salary - 4% Health and Education Cess on tax payable - GST on everything you purchase If you manage to save something and invest, pay: - 30% on savings and FDs interest - 20% on investments under 1 year - 12.5% on long term

This government has not learnt any lesson from almost losing the election. This rate of 12.5% as long term capital gains tax, without indexation benefits, is only a beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if this rate keeps increasing in the future. Inflation erodes money value.…
