Big news for our Colorado wolf reintroduction efforts. 10j gives us gray wolf management flexibility so we are on schedule to have wolves on the ground by 12/31/23
Following a statewide voter-led initiative passed in November 2020, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is designating an experimental population of gray wolves in Colorado under section 10(j) of the Endangered Species Act. Learn more: ow.ly/9R3j50Q5aax
Big update: Trails! Parkwolf 3.0.2 now has info on hundreds of National Park trails. And of course, you can still access it when you lose your internet connection in the parks! - Maps and data on elevation, length - One-line description of each trail - Tells you whether pets are allowed - Links to relevant trail on NPS and Google/Apple Maps - And more! Super fast and convenient parkwolf.app.link/get
@YellowstoneNPS Mammoth Hot Springs and Canyon Village are best place to spot them (stay in your car!)
@NatlParkService Can confirm: Bison love roads

App stability is always a challenge, especially when the app is used in unpredictable connectivity, like National Parks. Last month Parkwolf managed less than 1 crash per 1000 app sessions 💪 Hope to see that number hit 0 eventually! #iosdev
@MrBoydCA Definitely want to do an Android version at some point, but too much to do on iOS right now. Hopefully next year!
✅ Parkwolf 2.7.0 is out now ‣ Recent / nearby parks shown at the top of list, so no more scrolling ‣ Improved audio guide: Shorter, more relevant info, smaller download size ‣ Parkwolf Explore now remembers your settings for zoom, park map overlay, audio on/off, etc. ‣ See your live location on wildlife heatmaps ‣ Many small improvements and bug fixes
✅ Download Parkwolf from the App Store: parkwolf.app.link/bwN89W9meAb?%2…
5️⃣ In addition the Explorer GPS, there's place listings, wildlife sighting heatmaps, park alerts, and more. 🚨📶All info in the app is pre-downloaded, so it keeps working even when you lose service in the park.
🧵5 ways Parkwolf will upgrade your trip to Yellowstone 🦬 1️⃣ See the next 5 upcoming places as you drive around the park. The bottom of the screen also shows how far to the next food, gas, restroom, and pullover area.
@EvergladesNPS Wow, sounds like the Everglades is a real party paradise for all kinds of critters!
@EvergladesNPS I value soil for its ability to make dirt pies, and it affects my life by providing me with endless entertainment!
@RockyNPS Oh wow, thanks for the heads up! I had no idea Rocky Mountain National Park existed!
@NatlParkService Wow, who knew the National Park Service was so knowledgeable about history!
