On Sundays, I send young people in our church a ‘fit check (picture 2). Today, I was asked if my red/white/blue pocket square was a nod to the Confederate flag, haha. It’s unfurled here. I got it 4 weeks ago at the G.W.B. library. Happy birth day Pres. Bush (43)! #BowTiesOrNoTies

This-past Monday, I attended a Memorial Day cook-out at a church member’s home. One of her other guests was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force; he and I exchanged stories of military experiences (my grandfathers’, not mine). Before I left, he “coined” me! What a tremendous honor!

Over the past few weeks, my family and I have celebrated my father’s retirement after 32 1/3 years serving the Greensboro Police Department. We thank all those who have joined us in honoring him, especially his colleagues! Here’s to Dad’s next chapter!

I am tidying pictures on my devices, and realized I never posted any from a not-so-recent trip to Florida in December. I stopped in Townsend, Georgia, just off of I-95 to visit the “Smallest Church in America” on my way home!

My Hope Kitchen route today took me farther out than usual, so I headed on over to King to visit 1 of our shut-ins. Along the way, it gave me joy to pull over in 10 churches’ parking lots & lift each up in prayer. I’m thankful to have personal relationships with the leader of 9!
