How could I be angry at someone for choosing what they believe is best for their life? I might be hurt by their choice. I might grieve the loss of someone I deeply cared about, miss the person we were and wish things could have turned out differently. But their decision is still theirs to make and I have a life of my own to keep living. Maybe their path is taking them somewhere I can’t follow. And maybe mine is taking me somewhere I haven’t even discovered yet. I can miss what we were without needing to go back. I can love someone and still accept that our lives may be moving in different directions. I can be heartbroken by an ending without allowing that ending to become the end of me. Perhaps letting go isn’t about deciding that what we had didn’t matter. It’s trusting that losing one part of my life doesn’t mean I’ve lost the rest of it and having the courage to keep walking toward who I’m becoming.

the hardest thing i've learned this year is that you can never force someone to communicate and work things out. you can't beg for someone to see that you are worth fighting for. and i stand by that now.

My biggest flex is that after the breakup, I never looked for someone else to fill the space they left behind. I chose to sit with the pain instead of running from it. honestly, the hardest person to move on from is the one who gave you just enough to make you imagine a whole future, but never enough to actually build one. you’re not only grieving the person, you’re grieving the potential of what it could’ve been.

Dating is dead because everybody’s replaceable when someone new is one swipe away. People don’t fight for relationships anymore. When you fall in love with someone, being with them should feel like life is finally rewarding you for all the good you’ve put into the world. Not like you’re being punished for it. Choose people who feel like sunshine. Choose reciprocity, emotional availability, respect, ease, and genuine friendship. Love should teach you things, yes—but it shouldn’t require you to suffer for them.

we slept together, met both our families, showered skin to skin, said i love you, kissed with morning breath, doing goodnight/goodmorning kisses, cooked together, traveled together, talked about our past,present, future; our dreams, cried in each other's arms, did everything together, rides together, made business plan, promises and plans for our future.
