I am SHOCKED that my $360 virtual one-day AGU registration for online...only lets me attend the one session I present in and no other content. That is insane. never doing this again #AGU23 I would have to pay the full $865 to access online content. just...wow. inaccessible
pretty ironic the slogan this year is wide open science #agu23
@pazjusticiavida I could certainly understand you being disgusted and outraged but if you're shocked then you don't know the (closed-minded, price-gouging, insular, protectionist) #AGU23...
@pazjusticiavida I would rather give the money to my students to enjoy a treat. 😀 At this rate, it's much easier if I just email the people I'm interested in and they are always willing to share the PPTs. Conference fees are crossing the tipping point of price v/s value...
@pazjusticiavida I hear you. I did the same. I inquired and was told that the recordings will be available within 72 hours after the session end and will be available until March 3, 2024.
@pazjusticiavida I'd be curious to know what's driving these insane costs. What struck me this year is the amt of hardware, software and staff reqd to support macs, PCs, and remote participation. It's insanely complex and didn't even work well for my session. Can we simplify and lower costs?
@pazjusticiavida AGU is the least affordable conference I have ever attended.
