Saw this. Physically flinched at the memory. Made me think up a #DnD 5e house rule where elevation advantage gave extra damage by using fall damage rule concepts — extra 1d6 per 10 ft height advantage from target. I hate this house rule, so you know. Big nope for me.

I played #SeaOfThieves for the first time some nights ago. Played solo on a sloop. Fired a cannon at a galleon. Long pause. Extreme barrage of fire toward me. That was the best.

Same thoughts; fun and beautiful, but flawed in some narrative execution. But I'd also add that for the most part, I really like Faye in this? In this show, she feels even more than before like someone who developed a mind to think really fast to survive, which I enjoy.

I just backed Mothership Sci-Fi Horror RPG 1st Edition Boxed Set on @Kickstarter kickstarter.com/projects/gerdl… Been a big fan of what this RPG has shaped up to be, and I only wish @playTKG the best with this campaign.

With METROID being one of my favourite Nintendo series, DREAD has been a great sequel. It’s great to play a game that extends Samus’ story forward and expand on the lore a bit with some nice and surprising beats. And the game is just super slick, gameplay wise.

Dread was my first TTRPG. Since the pandemic started, I've been wondering about online play. I saw "reverse Hangman" as a suggestion recently. I'd try that, mix that up with a player d6 roll to determine if 1-3 letters must be guessed each time. Solve to sacrifice yourself!

Mildly contrarian take: I don't find the Boston Dynamics robots frightening, though they are certainly a bit uncanny. But like, we already have supersonic drones that carry weapons. Who do you want on your time? Mach 2 robo-plane or Mr. Parkour over there.

Watched what I hadn’t seen from Rebuild of Evangelion last weekend, incl. 3.0 and Thrice Upon a Time. I hope that (what’s likely) the finale of this story by Hideaki Anno gives him some peace and closure, and that he can feel as satisfied with making it as I felt watching it.

So I went and upgraded to a MacBook Pro M1, and uh…well, it's surpassing most of my expectations. But I guess that's what happens when you put a TB and 16 GB of RAM into a laptop. And the Touch Bar, while gimmicky, is the right kind of gimmicky for someone like me.
