Today in 1980, the very first in-vision Ceefax transmissions were broadcast on BBC 1 between 8:30 am and 9 am and on BBC 2 between 10 am and 10:30 am and 3:30 pm and 4 pm. These transmissions were on weekdays only. tvark.org/ceefax-promo

I loved Ceefax so much, that when I went to Moscow in 1991 to teach English, I set up a Russian equivalent: Mostext. They'd just started experimental teletext transmissions at the Moscow TV Tower. #Ceefax50

#OnThisDay 1983 : 40 years ago today, Ceefax In Vision which would later become Pages From Ceefax offiically replaced the dead airtime during the day on BBC1 and BBC2 which would had previously broadcast the Test Card F. (Note: pic not from the anniversary)
