Isaac is speaking of our own purity of heart - especially of the struggle with anger which often clouds our vision. When our hearts can see others with the love of Christ and also in light of the solidarity in sin then we aren’t so quick to make ourselves others’ correctors.
@philokalia_min Difficult to accept. St Thomas Aquinas tells us we must rebuke (appropriately & the right time w/ humility). I’m a director. I have the responsibility to straighten people out (well, give them the choice) discipline or fire. If I could live as a hermit I could embrace this easier
@philokalia_min Didn’t St. John the Baptist rebuke King Herod Antipas?
@philokalia_min This is a tall order to follow for mere humans (or bears) like me. Seriously. Great thought and guidance.
