@plthomasEdD I am explicitly teaching phonics to my high poverty students. I have never seen the confidence in 7 year old like I have seen the last two years. They feel empowered and are seeing success. This is why SOR is big.

@plthomasEdD Many of those defending Marie Clay include the claim that she did say phonics was important. Sincere question: why was I never ever taught anything about phonics he. I began to teach in the 1980s? In my whole language training
