Judge Merchan was required to recuse AS A MATTER OF LAW — his daughter has a pecuniary interest in the outcome of this case and may already have profited from it. That’s ONE degree of consanguinity, not six. Reversible error, but that would come too late to unring this bell.

@pnjaban so he does the Judge do this voluntarily or does someone intervene and make the change?
@pnjaban Merchan just hurt Jack Smith cases! x.com/mitchellvii/st…

@pnjaban @ElectionWiz How is the judge’s daughter “a party to the controversy?”
@pnjaban @julie_kelly2 Who can rule to get this judge disqualified? Clearly he's not going to recuse himself. I don't think he even cares that this will be won on appeal..., he just wants the limelight, a book deal, and he thinks to be in history books.
@pnjaban What chance do regular means Americans have when even a billionaire has to face such corruption every day?
@pnjaban File ethics complaints with the bar. Thousands of them.
@pnjaban @ElectionWiz By not doing so proves to me that it is political for him. You know their saying, “by any means necessary.”
It seemed to me that in his explanation of his decision to deny Trump’s recusal motion the judge testified on behalf of his daughter that during the period of time anti-Trump messages were posted on her X account she was not in control of it. So he’s been discussing Trump and the case with his daughter? Can Trump cross-examine the daughter? It occurs to me that given the judges jury questionnaire he would be disqualified from serving on the jury.
