When you hear the name Bill Buckner, the first thing that probably comes to mind is Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. You may forget that Bill: -Recorded 2,715 Hits -Won the 1980 NL Batting Title -Led the NL in Doubles Twice -Has 2 Top 10 MVP Finishes
@podoffame Class ball player!!! Should be HOF if it wasn’t for his ankles.
@podoffame Firs thing I think of is not making the normal defensive replacement for him.
@podoffame When I think of Mr. Bill Buckner I think of him coaching my son and helping him to be a quality player on and off the field.
@podoffame Buckner was an awesome player whose career unfortunately was defined by one play. Not fair. Stanley and Shiraldi are the real goats in 86 imo.
@podoffame I always think of him getting thrown out at 3rd by Dick Green in the ‘74 World Series 😄
@podoffame Buckner struck out 453 times in a 22 year career. That is the 4 and 5 hitters in one season of Seattle Mariners baseball.
@podoffame Buckner was a fantastic baseball player. Too bad he's forever identified by that play. He shouldn't ever been left in the field.
@podoffame Calvin Schiraldi and Bob Stanley lost that game, not Buckner. Also, everyone forgets that the Red Sox took a 3-0 lead into the sixth inning of Game 7. Now about that ugly Cubs uniform...
@podoffame Actually, I will always remember him as a Dodger, growing up in L.A. back in the day. I always respected his game.
