Left: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz after signing a law that guarantees free breakfast and lunch to all public school students Right: Republicans' 2024 agenda, which prioritizes...stopping schools from giving free meals to all public school students newrepublic.com/post/173668/re…
…and it's all part of an effort to also: –Cut Social Security + Medicare –Make Trump’s tax cuts for the top 1 percent permanent –Impose work requirements on *all* benefit programs like food stamps + Medicare –Extend work requirements on people aged 55-64 newrepublic.com/post/173668/re…
@prem_thakker @Terri2cat They didn't have breakfast during my school days because we were an upper middle-class community and kids ate breakfast at home. But having been a teacher in a couple of lower-income districts, I wish people would understand how important a school breakfast is for those children.
@prem_thakker @KevinMKruse Another example of loving pre-born children, but not giving a fig about them after they are born :(
@prem_thakker @ur6067 I hear all the time how both parties are the same and equally as bad. They aren’t. That picture of Governor Walz shows genuine care and compassion for others. I am convinced Republicans are no longer capable of feeling empathy and they seem to possess no will to help people.
@prem_thakker I pay a good deal in property taxes, but the thing I worry least about how the money is spent is feeding kids at school. Taking away food from kids is just unbelievably cruel.
@prem_thakker We should stop giving free anything to illegals. Tough shit
@prem_thakker Government turns everything it touches into a dumpster fire. LESS government is the answer.
