Booster 22 just lit up Pad 2 at Starbase this morning 🔥 and Flight 15 is going to try to catch BOTH the booster and the ship. I couldn't wait, so I've been doing exactly that in my game 😅 Starship Space Program is a fan-made Starship + Super Heavy spaceflight sim I'm building in Unreal Engine, and version 0.2.0 of the early alpha is out now for patrons: ⏱️ NEW: a real countdown, webcast-style UI and the full Pad 2 tower launch sequence, with new engine plumes 🚀 Low-altitude hops and high-altitude test flights 🔥 Hot staging on the way up 🥢 Super Heavy AND Ship catches on the tower 🎓 Flight School and challenges with medals, plus a new Daily Catch every day 🌍 Low Earth orbit and interplanetary flight planners (Moon and Mars landings come later) 📸 Replays, photo mode, save and load anywhere It's an early alpha, so things will break and change, and what you tell me shapes what comes next.

Right now I'm working on a major interface overhaul for @programstarship. I really want it to be as familiar as kerbal, but I just HAVE to make the bottom UI look like SpaceX Starship launch webcast, so I'm figuring out where to put UI elements around, and how to make it look consistent with the webcast UI aesthetics. Luckly @UnrealEngine makes it really a breeze to work with UI in UMG.
I've been quietly building a game for the past few years. and today it finally goes out the door! 🚀 Until recently, I had no idea what shape it would take. It turned into Starship Space Program: a Kerbal-like flight sim for Starship and Super Heavy. You fly the hops, hot staging, the booster catch on the tower, and on to orbit, with real orbital physics. Starbase is built from lidar, so the pads and the tower are exactly where they really are. Catching the booster in the chopsticks yourself is as good as it sounds. It's an early alpha, and that's the point: I want the people who love this stuff to shape what it becomes from here.
