@MattMarvinPoker Well put. The effect grows when there are short stacks behind you: a call that's +chip EV can be a clear fold once you count the pay jump you risk. The payouts and the stacks behind you often matter more than the hand itself.

@CardPulsePoker Exact preflop, both in diamonds: A4 is 58.7% vs KT (all 1.7M boards, ties split). The shared suit helps the ace a little (57.2% without it): when a diamond flush comes, the ace-high flush wins. KT needs a pair or its straight - the ace holds more often than the crowd expects.

@PokerNews @Winamax @LeoMargets @KSofficiel Final day of a high roller, pro vs pro, is exactly where chip EV and ICM split the most: same hand, same stacks, but with a pay jump on the line the calling range against a jam shrinks by a good 10-15% of hands. Would love to know the stacks here.

@UpswingPoker And then the 10 BB version: aces on the button, you min-raise as a trap and the big blind just folds. Sometimes the jam that gets called by A9o is the better feeling.
