So when you hear that the Governor insisted that the training period get reduced from 3-4 weeks to 24 hrs... Is that the training? Look at this PDF, get on the phones, and wing it? Press conference, after press conference... The truth gets more and more manipulated.

The majority of the reps taking the calls have been telling claimants that they cannot help move along their claims. The reps have said they received a 5-page pdf to peruse and were told to get on the phones. Reps were told to be empathetic and tell people, money is on its way.

On April 6, the DEO entered a $79.9 million contract with TelaForce to receive and process overflow calls for the DEO workforce services. The Walton Beach-based contractor will provide up to 2,000 additional staff members to answer calls, call people back and decrease wait times

@RepValDemings The DEO and Governor DeSantis have spent more time creating plausible deniability than they have coming up with actual solutions.

@RepValDemings Gov. DeSantis talks about hiring 2000 people and how they trained them in 24 hrs instead of 3 weeks. Many of the reps reported, upon hire they received documents to review but have gotten almost no training. They tell us that the system is down and/or they can't really help.

@FLDEO Lol. This is a joke. Do something productive. Show a sense of urgency and come up with an actual solution. This is an emergency for many of these people. The Federal Funding is emergency funding in response to a nationwide crisis. Act accordingly.

There was an emergency hearing scheduled for tomorrow that was brought forth in an attempt to hold the Governor & DEO accountable for the Florida unemployment crisis. But it was pushed back... Counsels for DEO and Governor argued that this was not an emergency.

Talk about rubbing salt in the wounds of many hard working Floridians who can't pay rent, bills, and/or feed their children. 700,000 unemployment claims confirmed, approx. 17% paid. All because Rick Scott spent 77 million on an unemployment system that he designed to fail.
