This Kurdish family with 3 children spent over 2 months in different areas of the PL/BY border. They were stuck at the border, in the forests, at the Kuźnica border crossing... they are safe now, but the inhumanity showed by Poland, Belarus and the EU needs to stop now!

It's the fifth month that Grupa Granica (EN: the Border Group), a grassroots social movement, works by the PL/BY border to help people trapped by Polish and Belarusian governments. In just 20 days of January, 345 people asked them for help. There were 50 children in that group.

Illegal and inhumane pushbacks in Poland continue. But the locals are even less likely to cooperate with border guards than they were a few months ago. They prefer to save freezing refugees and migrants from dying, often inviting them to their homes. #StopPolishPushbacks

Good news: Marwa, a 30-year-old Syrian woman that was found in a forest around Hajnówka and hospitalized for two months, will receive a humanitarian visa... from Germany. We are overjoyed for a good ending to her story. Poland would have pushed her back to her death.

The Poland Emergency Medical Team provides help in difficult field conditions - we trained on similar scenarios during recruitment. It's real now. Today we walked through a marshy forest for an hour and a half to get to the patient. The 24-hour duty continues.

Michał from Fundacja Ocalenie helping an anonymous refugee found on the PL side of the border so that he doesn't freeze to death. Every day, the forests on the Polish side of the PL/BY border are full of such suffering. Poland has to take all refugees in and process them.

Letting people die at the border in this freezing cold is probably one of most brutal things I have seen with respect to migrants treatment. It is unacceptable & inhumane. @Refugees doing nothing. Truth is this is meant to make an example of dying migrants so others don’t migrate

Nice to talk to @BBCKasiaMadera today. PCPM's Emergency Medical Team @RatownicyPCPM will supplement ambulance operations in NE Poland for all persons in need. Medical assistance is provided often out of reach of regular ambulances, in thick woods, 30-40min walk from tarmac road

My understanding, the vast majority of migrants at the Poland-Belarus border will spend this night outside.

Our hearts break for young Ahmed Al Hasan and all the other victims of this cruel political standoff. Rest in power, Ahmed ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻 Stop #PolishPushbacks and take in the people at the Belarusian border.

Letting migrants die at the Belarus/Poland border under freezing temperatures is yet another low in “political morality”. People should know this lack of action is intentional & meant to make an example of suffering & vulnerability of escapees of war, instability, & genocide.
