Driving a Tesla now feels like using the original iPhone 12 years ago. It will be a game changer, it is an amazing “device” but still feels like an early prototype missing some feature at times. (Remember the first iPhone was only 2G & the camera could not focus?)

I like the idea of converting a calendar into a diary / life log by integrating different data layers. Other layers I'd like to add: • Locations (Google Maps, Swarm) • Media consumption (books, Netflix) • Browser history / Screentime • Stress levels (Oura, Apple Watch)

Apple is probably managing millions of subscriptions for iOS and macOS apps. But the developer membership does not auto renew, they pull your app from the store as soon as it expires. You have to think about it every year, why is this not a subscription that auto renew?

It’s already been 500 days ago that I built the tracking feature for @quantifiedmap. I didn’t have time to work on it as much as I wanted but it’s slowly being improved. It’s amazing to see these maps and stats.

After finishing my first marathon earlier this year — the SF Marathon in 4h20 — I was wondering if I’ll be able to finish one in less than 4 hours. I just finished the Sacramento marathon in 3h56. 🎉

App developers and co should always think twice before sending unsolicited marketing or “engagement boosting” notifications. In 2 clicks you loose your trust and privilege probably forever, or it’s going to be really hard to gain back.

Finally published @quantifiedmap update for iOS 13 + added new features like calendar to navigate to a specific date. I can’t believe the whole app is only 7 MB.
