I had to officially declare this, but Jack Velling is just not good. Like he’s maybe average at best but he misses blocks, he doesn’t get open at all in the passing game. I just don’t get the hype.

Luke warm take: Aiden Chiles may just be an average Big Ten QB w/ occasional flashes of brilliance, and that might be enough to have a pretty good team. Smith and company were able to win 8+ games multiple times with truly horrible quarterbacks and Chiles is at worst average.
