In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

On Rep. Bel Zamora's direct examination: She cannot hide behind claims of misogyny for her sensual and poorly done examination. Shame the prosecution allowed her to plead, as her conduct produced only a distraction for everyone and a stain on the prosecution's cause.

Why you have to be aware that picking September 21 as the martial law anniversary is a tribute to Marcos who engineered it so people alive then actually forgot there was no martial law on September 21, 1972: a thread.

Steve Kerr says Roger Federer taught his Warriors team the secret to sustained success wasn’t outworking everyone, it was building a life around your craft you never want to escape from “I’ll tell you a great story about Roger Federer. We were playing in China with the Warriors in 2017. Roger was in Shanghai for the Masters tournament, so we invited him to come speak to the team.” “Draymond Green asked him, ‘How do you sustain success? How have you managed to win majors 20 years after you first won one?’ Everyone was expecting him to say, ‘I work harder than everybody,’ the will, all the clichés.” “Roger Federer says, ‘I get up every morning and I make breakfast for my kids. Then I take them to school and drop them off. Then I go practice tennis for about two hours, and I’ve figured out a really good routine where I don’t destroy my body, but I can get all the work in I need.” “‘Then I go have lunch with my wife. In the evening, we cook dinner together. The kids are all home from school. We ask them about school. There’s so much joy in the house. We put them to bed, and then I put my head on the pillow and go, “Man, that was just a great day.” And I’ve been doing that for 20 years.’” “And it was like, yes. That’s it. That’s the formula. That’s what leads to sustained success. He loves tennis. He loves his family. He loves life. It’s not outworking everybody and banging your head against the wall, ‘I’m going to be better than everybody.’ It’s allowing your natural talent to shine through with a work ethic, with a great family life, with perspective, with peace, with mindfulness.” “It’s perspective. It’s joy. It’s passion. It’s mindfulness. It’s an awareness that we are truly lucky. To get the most out of ourselves, it’s our daily rituals and experiences and love and joy.”

Hindi ba nahiya si "BGen" Romero? You can tell exactly what type of person he is.

I remember asking assistant coach Mo Cheeks, what’s harder to do? Workout after practice or before?? I only asked cuz by time I would get to the gym, Russ was already done in the morning and I usually got mine in after practice. Mo like, “coming in before practice is probably harder”…since then, it’s been my routine….a lot of people looked at the emotions on the court and thought Russ was loud, nah to me, he was quiet and methodical. He lead by example and once the lights were bright, he let everything out and experienced pure freedom. It was inspiring as his teammate and everywhere I went, I seen it inspire people from all walks of life, crazy thing is, he didn’t say much, he just showed up. For 18 years. This basketball life is sacred to us as professionals, what we put into that court means everything. Some of us wish we could go back and do things with a little more intent and some can just wipe their hands and be satisfied with the time spent. Who u gonna be? We know what zero was on…keep inspiring in the next phase of life champ. I don’t care what happens, can’t erase what it was…The first YNs, finals run in our early 20s, all star games, seeing each other get injured and bounce back, the bus rides, plane rides, card games, jokes and arguments, the whole thing, memorable!! …to the whole Westbrook family, Nina, the kids, mama Westbrook, big Russ, Ray, Donnell, everybody from luezinger high and ucla and many more that I’m forgettin, much love and Congratulations on a iconic career.

Russell Westbrook is gone. D-Wade is gone. Duncan is gone. Dwight is gone. T-Mac is gone. Pierce is gone. Manu is gone. Shaq is gone. Nash is gone. Melo is gone. Kidd is gone. CP3 is gone. Dirk is gone. Ray is gone. Yao is gone. KG is gone. AI is gone. Your childhood is over.

FIFA really tried their absolute best to rig this game for Argentina over 3 minutes of pure robberies gone in Argentina’s favour. It was a scandal, Spain saved football. x.com/citehcomps_5/s…

“What if the Odysseus you knew lost his way? What if...one night, in a strange city, he saw things that made him think the home he knew couldn't possibly be there anymore. What if…when he left the belly of the horse, and opened the gates of Troy, he saw ten years of rage pour into that city in one night? We left them a gift, an offering of peace, that they took into their home. We violated all that's ever sacred between people. It turned a fight into a hunt. To burn the walls of Troy was to burn the world-entire. Including his home. What if he knew, that very night, as he walked through fires, anarchy, and pain—and in a daze of sweaty celebrations that follow—what if he knew exactly what he'd done?”

THE ODYSSEY left me with a thought I couldnt take easilyy.. we often describe it as the greatest story ever told about a man trying to return home...but I walked away feeling it was about something far more difficult…what if odysseus is not trying to return to Ithaca??? but what if he is trying to return to the man he was before troy??? the sea is only the physical distance...the asli real distance is moral…when odysseus leaves for war..he is a king...when he returns…he is a legend...but somewhere between those two identities he stops being simply a human being...every victory demands a compromise..every compromise slowly changes the person making it..by the time troy falls the war has already claimed more than lives it has reshaped the souls of those who survived it..thats why I dnt see the trojan horse as merely the greatest military strategy ever conceived. I see it as the moment intelligence detached itself from conscience. It won a war..but it also proved how easily morality can be negotiated when victory becomes the only objective..greeks conquered troy..yet they also carried something back with them that no kingdom could celebrate..the belief that the end can justify the means..perhaps that is how civilizations truly begin to decay. not when the walls fall. not when an enemy invades..but when they slowly normalise the very compromises they once believed were unthinkable..civilisations are not held together by armies or crowns..they survive because people collectively believe that certain lines should never be crossed..the moment success becomes more valuable than principle..those lines begin to disappear..violence stops being an exception and quietly becomes part of the culture itself…thats why every island and every monster and every obstacle felt different to me..they were not simply adventures delaying his return..they felt like manifestations of the man he had become..the further he travels..the clearer it becomes that the greatest distance is not measured in miles but in conscience...one can defeat kingdoms, outsmart gods andd survive monsters yet still remain lost if you no longer recognise yourself…the film also made me think differently about inheritance..we often believe we inherit bloodlines or wealth or family names. But perhaps those are the least important things we pass on..waht every generation truly inherits are ideas..our success and fears and validation..the stories we choose to glorify eventually become the values our children mistake for truth…thats why ithaca being entrusted to telemachus became the emotional center of the film for me…I didnt see it as a prince finally becoming king. I saw a civilization standing at a crossroads…odysseus can give his son a kingdom..but he cannot give him innocence andd can only leave behind the world his own generation created. telemachus inheritance is not the throne itself..it is the responsibility to decide what deserves to continue and what deserves to end..perhaps thats where the film quietly places its hope..not because the younger generation is automatically wiser but because every new generation possesses something the previous one gradually loses..the freedom to question inherited certainty...they are less obligated to defend old stories and more capable of asking whether those victories were worth their cost...progress begins the moment inheritance stops meaning imitation. ..may be thats the true meaning of home…and I think home is not the place waiting for you at the end of the journey..but its the version of yourself that still deserves to arrive there…may be thats why odyssey has endured for thousands of years. It isntt simply the story of a man who crossed an ocean to reclaim his kingdom. It is the story of every civilisation trying to answer the same impossible question…after everything we have done in the name of victory..what kind of people do we choose to become next????????

Honor your father and your mother, keep your mouth shut when anger tries to speak first, do not envy the wicked, do not even think about it, feed somebody who can't feed you back, stay away from the man who always has a plan for other people's time, if you make a promise keep it even when it costs you, especially when it costs you, discipline your children early or you will visit them in places you don't want to see, do not talk about the good you do, never tell your left hand what your right is up to and it's over, be faithful with small amounts before you ask for large ones, don't lie down with bitterness, it grows roots overnight, love your wife the way you love your own body, you don't neglect your own body do you, forgive quickly, not for the other person, for you, because rage is acid in your own jar, teach your children while they're walking with you, while they're sitting with you, when they lie down and when they rise up, and then hope

I remember my first court visit at age 10, asking my mom why my dad was shaking hands and joking with opposing counsel. They were enemies only in court, but not outside of it, that’s the way lawyers are, she said.

Our government is run by clowns. The only interests that our "leaders" wish to protect and uphold are their own.

This is fantastic. Search "Philippines" and 1st entry is 1947, Quirino inviting American capital to invest in PH; there's a 1978 sit-in against Marcos in PH consulate in SF; full interviews from "In Our Image" docu and more!

Why did the Philippines fail to industrialize—and still avoid failure? pietromasina.substack.com/p/why-the-phil…

Balikatan 2026 is shaping up to be more than a routine alliance exercise. With more than 17,000 troops participating from April 20 to May 8 — including roughly 10,000 U.S. personnel alongside forces from the Philippines, Australia, Canada, France, Japan, and New Zealand — this year’s drills reflect the widening security architecture taking shape across the Indo-Pacific. What stands out is not just the scale, but the scope. Training will span the land, sea, air, space, and cyber domains, underscoring how regional militaries are preparing for a far more complex operating environment than in previous decades. The inclusion of multiple allied partners, plus 17 observer nations, signals that Balikatan is increasingly becoming a platform for multilateral coordination rather than simply a bilateral U.S.-Philippines exercise. Strategically, the exercise comes at a sensitive moment. Tensions remain elevated in the South China Sea, concerns over Taiwan contingency planning continue to shape defense thinking, and Washington is clearly investing in stronger interoperability with frontline and partner states. For the Philippines, Balikatan is also tied to military modernization: it offers a chance to train with advanced systems, improve joint readiness, and reinforce its role in regional deterrence. For the United States and its allies, the message is equally clear: security in the Indo-Pacific will be built through networks, not just treaties. Balikatan — meaning “shoulder to shoulder” — increasingly represents that wider shift. It is no longer just about exercises on paper; it is about building real operational trust, signaling collective resolve, and preparing for a security environment where crises could emerge across multiple domains at once.
