🚨 JUST IN: Lindsay Clancy lone holdout juror Michael Desronvil just WENT PUBLIC on camera "I know the whole focus has been on me. But we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the 3 ANGELS at hand." 🙏🏻 THAT is a patriot and hero of justice, held the line for 30+ hours to make sure a m*rderer doesn't walk 👏🏻 Michael is fending off a relentless character assassination brought by Clancy attorney Kevin Reddington. He is clearly just a good man who RULED HIS CONSCIENCE God bless him!

The OKC Streetcar serves a very specific and unique purpose in our growing transit system, and its purpose is this: It circulates people across our downtown. Our downtown is walkable, but even in a walkable area, people don’t mind a little boost. In this sense, the streetcar is analogous to the moving sidewalks in an airport. The streetcar is for people who have either arrived downtown without a car or would prefer to leave their car in its parking spot. Right now it is especially useful to visitors who are staying downtown and have no car, special event attendees who found a parking spot far from their destination, or downtown workers and residents who want to quickly shift to another downtown destination. Right now, we don’t have a great number of downtown workers or special event attendees who commuted via public transit, but that cohort is inevitably going to grow as our transit system expands in the decades to come. When it does, the streetcar will become a significant amenity for them. Since the streetcar’s inception, there has been an inherent tension in its operations. If the streetcar is analogous to a moving sidewalk for many of its users, their ideal usage of it will be brief. They want to hop on and off. Its usage is very different than the rest of our transit system, where almost all rides are commutes of many miles, lasting at least 15-20 minutes. In contract, a streetcar rider may only want to stay on the streetcar for a few blocks and less than five minutes. The tension comes from the fact that the streetcar has almost always charged a fare. The fare was not high, but the level of hassle was. People understandably didn’t want to spend five minutes at a fare machine or downloading an app for a five-minute ride. The usage of streetcar is very different than the usage of other public transit, but we charged fares in both cases. People often say they want to run government like a business. I subscribe to some aspects of that philosophy, but the reality is that most government services don’t create profit for the provider, or even break even. The billions of dollars we have spent on city streets in the last decade or so have collected us no fare or toll whatsoever. Streets are the biggest loss we have on our balance sheet. And that’s okay. The city government exists (among other reasons) to provide city streets so people can move around. We provide public transit options for the same purpose. Traditionally, in contrast to streets, which you can use for free, public transit charges a small fare. This fare covers only a very small part of the cost of providing the service. We do often depend on that money in order to provide the service, so it’s not easy to just give it up, but it doesn’t come anywhere close to covering the entire cost. Recently, COTPA (which operates EMBARK) decided to sharpen their pencils and try to solve the tension that had challenged the streetcar since its opening. They decided they could manage the finances of removing the fare. But they needed to see if the theory was correct that people would use it to a far greater degree if there was no fare and the service was therefore more convenient. To test the theory, for the last several months, the streetcar went free. And in fact, usage skyrocketed 74%. In June, the streetcar had its greatest month since the opening month in 2018 - 36,756 riders. In government, we don’t measure the success of our services by the profit they turn, because they never have and they never will. We measure them by their usage. If the community is using it, it has value. Clearly, removing the fares from streetcar nearly doubled the value of the streetcar to our community. And so, today, COTPA and the City of Oklahoma City have decided to remove the streetcar fares permanently. From this day forward, the OKC Streetcar will no longer charge fares. Enjoy this service and enjoy our fantastic downtown!

Lu Dort says goodbye to OKC on IG along with a special video: “Dear OKC, There are no words that could ever fully express what the 405 means to me, but one thing will always be true: I'Il forever be grateful. Thank you to the Oklahoma City Thunder organization for taking a chance on a young, overlooked kid from Montreal seven years ago. To the coaching staff, thank you for pouring so much into me day after day, year after year. To this city, thank you for making this HOME - not just for me, but for my family. And to my teammates, thank you for every battle we fought together and every challenge we faced along the way. To YOU, Loud City- I will forever appreciate the relentless support. Through all the highs and lows, you never stopped believing in us as we chased the goal of bringing this city its first championship. I wouldn't trade my time here for anything. This place helped shape me into the man you see today, and I'll always carry these memories with me. I leave with nothing but the deepest sense of love, gratitude, and appreciation for everyone who made this chapter so special. With love, Luuuuuuuuu 5 out” x.com/AthleteVanity/…

Two immigrants. One American dream. 🇺🇸 @RealStevenAdams America gave us freedom and opportunity. Oklahoma gave us a home, lifelong friendships, and memories we’ll never forget. Home isn’t always where you’re born. Sometimes it’s where you’re given the freedom to dream. We’ll never forget where we came from and we’ll never stop being grateful for where we are.

The most Oklahoma thing I’ve ever seen. I love it.
