Steamer600 has Fermin as a 2.5 WAR player. It has Diaz as a 0.4 WAR player. So if you look at it like that, getting 4.5 years of a 2.5 WAR catcher and a +2 WAR upgrade of what you have, giving up 2 solid backend pitchers does make it more worth it.

I'm really surprised that Niebla seems to enjoy working with Preller and Preller basically seems to go out and get the guys Niebla wants. I thought Preller was tough to work with.

I don’t really care that all the moves don’t work out… or that I didn’t even like half the moves he made today, I love having Preller as the GM of this team. So fun, so exciting.

On paper the Fermin trade looks the worst. They must be really high on Fermin for whatever reason. Miller deal is also not great, and kinda hurts more because it’s losing Leo, but you can kinda understand why he did it.
